Ginger & Rosa movie review : I knew nothing about this film other than the fact that Elle Fanning starred and that it was set in 60?s England. It’s beautifully filmed with some amazing characters who kept me glued to the screen. Elle Fanning totally blew me away with her performance as Ginger. Ginger has a best friend Rosa (Alice Englert) whom she has known since birth and together they do absolutely everything. Alessandro Nivola plays Ginger’s father very well and is a very interesting character in this who due to his beliefs (or lack of them) chooses to be a pacifist but is also a source tension between mother and daughter. While Elle’s accent wasn’t 100% (It’s only us Brits who can even notice) her acting was 200% which even on it’s own made this film worth seeing. This is easily the best (acted) film I’ve seen so far this year (2013) and I’ve no doubt I’ll see better but I won’t see many that ‘could’ better this superb film.
